Tabanan, 13 October 2023 – PIB Sunsetion which was held by PIB College students today, began with campus tour activities and also various very interesting workshops. One of the workshops held today was a workshop from Event Management with the theme “Live Streaming Event Technology”.
This workshop opened with an introduction about the tourism industry and also suggestions for what to do when choosing your next level of education by one of the lecturers from PIB College, namely I Wayan Adi Pratama, S.Tr.Par., M.Par. The workshop activities held at the creative lab ran very smoothly. The workshop held this time invited participants to practice directly, which was called “Based on roll in the event”. However, before the participants practiced these roles, they were briefly explained and introduced in more depth about the event industry, such as positions or titles for event activists, career descriptions when graduating from event management school, estimated salary ranges. from each position, as well as properties that are often used during events and how to handle events from small scale to international scale events.
It was also said that one industry that can always move the world of tourism, from the hospitality sector to F&B, is the events industry. One of the interesting facts about the event industry is that at almost every event there is usually collaboration with one of the unique professions, namely rain charmers.
Not just an explanation, in the next session the workshop participants were also given the opportunity to see several videos showing behind-the-scenes activities during the event, one of which was footage of the SEA GAMES event. The purpose of playing these videos is so that workshop participants can have a clear picture of the duties of each role, starting from what FOH is, then what the duties and roles of a Show Director, Soundman, Operator, MC and many more are other roles.
After the theoretical explanation is deemed sufficient, the next session which is also the closing session is practice or acting out several professions in the field of events “Based on roll in the event”. The participants were divided into several groups and the role play session started with the first group. In each group the roles are divided MC, Show Director, Soundman, Operator, Assistance Show Director.
The participants who have these roles immediately get into their respective positions and operate the equipment usually used during the event according to the direction of the mentor. Before they played their roles, the participants were briefed and explained in advance how to operate the equipment and what its functions were. One of them is the use of handy talkies (HT), which is a two-way telecommunications tool that uses radio frequencies. The workshop participants were very enthusiastic and enthusiastic about playing these roles. Without realizing it, the time available for this workshop had ended and the next activity continued with group photos. After closing, all participants were directed to take part in the next event, namely the main event of PIB Sunsetion 2023: a garden party with the theme “Grow Amity, Foster Creativity”.
The aim of the “LIVE STREAMING EVENT TECHNOLOGY” workshop is for the participants to know and learn about the event industry, starting from any place of study that has an event management study program, the tools used, and also for them to know how broad career paths in the field are. This It is hoped that in the future the participants who take part in this workshop, if there are those who are interested in entering the world of events, they will at least have the knowledge gained through this workshop.
