Tabanan, 2024 – PIB College is hosting the Indonesia Pastry Cup 2024 Competition, a prestigious event that will determine Indonesia’s representatives for the Asian Pastry Cup in Singapore in October 2024. This competition is not just a contest, but also a platform for professional pastry chefs from all over Indonesia to showcase their best skills in the categories of chocolate and sugar art.

In his address, Stefan Mueller, one of the judges, delivered his message to the participants to maintain their readiness and mental strength throughout the competition. Stefan also reminded the participants to maintain their mentality regardless of the competition’s outcome, “Remember that it’s all for the positive, so you can improve yourself. It’s the important thing in this competition.”

The other two judges, Vincent Stopin and Budiharto Pratadaja, also shared their motivation with the participants to strengthen themselves due to the relatively long and energy-draining duration of the competition. “In this competition, time management is crucial as it directly impacts scores. Make sure to pace yourselves, stay focused, and be strong in this consecutive 7 hours competition duration,” said Vincent.

The quality of formation, texture, and composition of each element in the artwork will be the main considerations in evaluating the participants’ level of technical skill. Neatness and cleanliness are also aspects that cannot be overlooked. This reflects the participants’ professionalism and commitment to high work standards in the pastry world.

By evaluating these various aspects, it is hoped that the Indonesia Pastry Cup 2024 Competition will produce winners who not only have excellent technical skills but also have integrity and high professional attitudes in facing the increasingly competitive pastry industry. Moreover, this competition also provides opportunities for PIB College students to delve deeper into the world of pastry. Students can learn about creativity in pastry arts, especially in chocolate and sugar art, through direct observation of competing professionals. Through this competition, students are directly involved in a real competitive atmosphere. They can feel the competition atmosphere filling the competition space, get inspired by the extraordinary creations displayed by the participants, and learn from the techniques used. This is an opportunity for students to see and understand more deeply the process of creating pastry art, from conceptual planning to final execution. Thus, through this direct experience, students not only enhance their practical skills in pastry but also gain invaluable insights into the culinary industry.

The close cooperation between PIB College and the Indonesia Pastry Alliance (IPA) is one of the main reasons why PIB College was chosen as the host for the Indonesia Pastry Cup 2024 Competition. The synergy between the educational institution and the industry association provides great benefits for PIB College students.

With this cooperation, PIB College strives to create an ecosystem that not only provides theoretical education but also supports the practical skill development of students in pastry arts. Students are not only provided with knowledge of pastry techniques but also given the opportunity to be directly involved in this industry through participation in prestigious competitions such as the Indonesia Pastry Cup.

Furthermore, this cooperation also opens doors for students to expand their professional networks. By attending events organized by IPA and engaging in related industry activities, students can connect with professionals in the pastry field and gain valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in this industry.

With the Indonesia Pastry Cup 2024 Competition, it is hoped that new talents in the pastry field will emerge who can bring honour to Indonesia on the international stage.
