Tabanan – Indonesia boasts an undeniable wealth of tea and coffee, yet many people remain unfamiliar with the incredible potential of both beverages in culinary innovation. To address this, PIB College, in collaboration with Kapal Api Group, hosted an inspiring collaborative event titled “Taste of Creativitea with Bonteh” from August 31st to September 1st, 2023. This event provided participants with an opportunity to explore and manifest their creativity in the world of tea and coffee.

On competition day, participants from various backgrounds were invited to take part in the competitions held on the PIB College campus. The competitions were divided into four categories:

Tea Based Competition: This competition tested participants’ ability to create captivating beverages using tea as the primary ingredient. Participants had the freedom to combine tea with various other ingredients to create inspiring works of art. The Tea-Based Mocktail Competition provided talented individuals with the opportunity to create two mocktail recipes using fresh tea as the base, highlighting the innovation in flavor and uniqueness of each participant.

Coffee Based Creation Challenge: For coffee enthusiasts with a creative flair, this competition provided the ideal stage to express their love for coffee. Participants were provided with ABC Kopi Bali coffee as the main ingredient to create culinary and beverage recipes that were evaluated by a panel of judges.

Bonteh Craft Competition: The Bonteh Craft Competition allowed participants to use assorted materials to craft unique works of art. This competition showcased participants’ artistic side as they created crafts using Bonteh bottles, demonstrating the extraordinary creativity that can emerge from simple materials.

Tea Painting Competition: In this competition, participants showcased their painting talents using tea as a medium, creating unique artworks.

The Taste of Creativitea with Bonteh competition yielded remarkable results, with enthusiastic participants demonstrating exceptional spirit and creativity in devising new culinary ideas with tea and coffee as primary ingredients.

This event provided a significant opportunity for PIB College students to learn about food innovation and the home industry, gaining hands-on experience in creating new food products. It also served as a chance for them to establish connections with industry professionals and explore various career paths in the food industry. Additionally, it allowed them to delve into Indonesia’s cultural richness surrounding tea and coffee, discovering their potential as nutritious and versatile food ingredients. (STV)
