Tabanan – PIB College, the best hospitality campus in Bali, held a Wine and Food Pairing Banquet event, which was directly carried out by Hotel Management students accompanied by professional industry mentors. This banquet event was held to enhance students’ skills in combining delicious dishes with the best wine. The event was attended by PIB College partners and industry professionals to provide real-world experience to students and open up new opportunities for them to expand their networks in the hospitality industry.

The Wine and Food Pairing Banquet event was held on June 9, 2023, at Café Lab PIB College. With a fine dining theme, this event provided an opportunity for students to learn how to choose and combine delicious dishes with the best wine. Students will learn techniques for selecting wine that complements the dish, how to serve wine and food correctly, and how to create an unforgettable culinary experience for guests.

In this course series, students are taught the basic concepts of pairing food with wine. They are equipped with an understanding of the basic principles of selecting wine suitable for various types of dishes and how to find harmony between the taste of the food and the characteristics of the chosen wine. This will help them understand the importance of proper selection to enhance the culinary experience for guests. In addition, students are also involved in small groups to plan and pair dishes with suitable wine. In this process, they will be given advice by attending professionals, so they can understand and improve their skills in pairing dishes and wine.

Mastering the knowledge of how to properly combine food and wine is crucial for hospitality and restaurant industry practitioners. This skill is the key to providing an unforgettable culinary experience for guests. Choosing the right wine combination for the served dish can enhance the taste of the dish and result in a better culinary experience. Conversely, choosing the wrong wine can ruin the taste of the dish and reduce the desired culinary experience. Therefore, Hotel Management students are equipped with this skill to prepare them to become professionals in the industry.
