The island of Bali holds an enduring charm for aficionados of cuisine and culture, a sentiment affirmed by the visit of a delegation from the Bali Business School, comprised of participants from Timor Leste, to PIB College. Their palpable enthusiasm for Balinese culture and cuisine resonates strongly among the younger generation.
This traditional Balinese cooking class spanned 8 weeks in the Kitchen Lab of PIB College, School of Tourism, Digital, and Creative Arts. Beyond merely savoring the natural splendor and cultural heritage, participants arrived with a keen intent to delve into the wealth of Balinese cuisine. They learned directly from Chef Sandy and Chef Darma, both professional instructors at PIB College, who demonstrated the intricacies of cooking.
The event became even more captivating as participants were invited to actively partake in crafting Ayam Betutu and Sate Lilit.
Ayam Betutu and Sate Lilit stand as culinary gems of Balinese cuisine, celebrated for their richness in ingredients and spices, as well as the nuanced techniques involved in their preparation. Participants not only absorbed knowledge of spices and Bali’s signature ingredients but also received hands-on guidance from chefs and students of the Culinary Arts & Gastronomy Program in the traditional culinary methods of Bali.
