This workshop is a collaborative effort between Event Management students and the Culinary Arts & Gastronomy program at PIB College.
The Creative Unique Burger workshop isn’t your run-of-the-mill cooking class. It’s a culinary journey that veers off the beaten path, inviting participants to explore the world of burgers with a creative twist. What makes this workshop truly special, however, is the unconventional choice of the main ingredient: onigiri rice balls. Onigiri, a Japanese staple, is typically shaped like a triangle and wrapped in nori seaweed. This unique class is guided by Chef Heru and Chef Sandy, both of whom are instructors from PIB College’s Culinary Arts & Gastronomy program.
As the class kicks off, participants are given the opportunity to grasp the fundamentals of creating onigiri rice balls. They learn the art of perfecting the rice texture and forming it into the distinctive small rounds. Additionally, participants are taught the technique of wrapping nori seaweed around the rice, adding a unique touch to the burgers they’re about to create.
But the real fun begins when it’s time to get creative. Participants are granted absolute freedom to let their imaginations run wild and experiment with an array of provided ingredients. They can select from various additions like meat, vegetables, sauces, and more to craft burgers that align with their personal tastes. The atmosphere is abuzz with collaboration, idea-sharing, and the birth of truly unique and tantalizing burgers.
