MoU signing with the National Library of Indonesia at the Rakornas 2019

Jakarta-Thursday (03/14), the National Library of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional – Perpusnas) held a National Coordination Meeting (Rapat Koordinasi Nasional – Rakornas) of Library on March 13 – 16 2019. The theme was “Librarians Working to Create Social Inclusion based Library to Improve Community Welfare”. The event was officially opened by the Minister of Home Affairs, Tjahjo Kumolo, at Hotel Bidakara Grand Pancoran Jakarta.

The Director of the Politeknik Internasional Bali (PIB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Anastasia Sulityawati, M.Sc., M.M., M.Mis., D.Th., Ph.D., D.Ag, attended the Rakornas and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the head of the National Library of Indonesia, Mr. Drs. Muhammad Syarif Bando, M.M.

The scope of the MoU includes: Human resource development in the library field; Development and utilization of library automation application INLISLite; Development of information and communication technology in the field of perpus dokinfo and expansion of library network through the development of digital database and respiratory (Indonesia One Search, IPusnas and scientific publication); Development and utilization shared use of library collections; Scientific meetings, joint research and publication in the library field; The Association of Preservation of Print and Record Works; and Implementation of library promotion and development of reading culture.

The Head of PIB Book Lounge, Ni Putu Premierita Hariyanti, S.Sos., M.A., stating that she has a high expectation regarding the MoU signing between PIB and Perpusnas. Good collaboration with government agency is expected to be able to encourage and strengthen the literacy movement within the campus environment. Furthermore, international-standard library providing by PIB is aim to revive the and reading culture of the entire academic community, and realize the important role of library in creating quality, independent and competitive human beings in globalization era.
