The initial idea to develop the area of Bali International Training and Development Center (BITDEC) as an education and training center was coming from the meeting of owner’s family foundation. That meeting formulated the land use of BITDEC as a center of education and training in Bali, which serve as “family heritage”.
Along with the tourism development in Bali, the foundation decided to set up a central institution of education and training, particularly in the field of tourism. In 2013, the foundation met with Dusit Thani Hospitality College as one of the tourism campuses in Thailand, in order to establish cooperation. After the “Mutual of Understanding” was signed between both parties, then it was decided to establish a vocational school named Bali International Polytechnic (PIB).
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ir.Sulistyawati, M.S., M.M., M.Mis.,D.Th., Ph.D., as Director of Bali International Polytechnic (PIB), it organized vocational education with programmes in culinary arts, hospitality, and hotel management. This is in line with the government mission in order to reduce unemployment rate in Indonesia and to prepare the human resource who are ready to use and able to fulfill the international standards, in the field of tourism and hospitality.
1. To become a world class education institution in tourism and hospitality which produces excellent human resources, equipped with leadership and entrepreneurship
2. To produce high quality educational research studies that incorporate local culture, which will bring values to the society, nation, country, and also internationally acknowledged
3. To carry out sustainable community services
